Overview

This UX case study details the design and development of a Camping Supplies Store App, emphasizing an intuitive product comparison feature to help users choose the best camping gear. It addresses the needs of various user personas to enhance user experience and boost customer satisfaction.

Problem

Outdoor enthusiasts struggle with choosing the right camping gear due to overwhelming options and a lack of comparison tools. This leads to frustration, poor choices, and decreased satisfaction.

Solution

An App with a product comparison tool for specs, reviews, and prices. With a user-friendly interface, personalized recommendations, detailed info, and secure checkout to streamline the shopping experience.

Process

The design process followed a Design Thinking approach, starting with user research to understand the needs and pain points of outdoor enthusiasts. Insights from this research informed the creation of wireframes that outlined the app's structure and functionality. These wireframes were then developed into interactive prototypes, allowing for iterative testing and refinement to ensure an intuitive and user-centered experience.

Research

The first stages of the Design Thinking process helped setting a direction for the project. First, different methods of user research took place, including user research, qualitative research, quantitative research and competitive analysis. Then, the user was defined by creating user personas with empathy and journey maps.

Designing this app strengthen a lot my UX skills, both soft and hard. I found it really challenging designing a whole ecommerce app. It wasn't really a fully completed app, but I went beyond the MVP and designed from sign in to check out.
