Summit Website

Responsive Website Landing Page

Overview

This project involved designing a responsive website for Summit, a camping supply store, ensuring it functioned seamlessly on both large and small screens. The background research and initial insights for this project were shared with another project, where I designed a mobile app for the same client. You can explore that project here.

Process

Adopting a "mobile-first design" or "progressive enhancement" approach helped clarify the key elements to prioritize in the design, making it easier to scale the website for larger screens.

While this project shared a process with the mobile app design, certain aspects required different approaches since mobile and desktop users often have distinct behaviors and needs. The process involved conducting interviews, creating user personas, defining the information architecture, performing card sorting, wireframing, prototyping, and most importantly, thorough testing to ensure the design met user expectations.
